GoRoadie Alternatives for UK Driving Instructors (2026)

GoRoadie sells two things: the GoRoadie Pro diary app and a pay-per-pupil referral service. This page is about alternatives to the app, with every rival fact taken from the vendor's own site on 19 September 2026.

PassReady · 19 September 2026 · 6 min read

Quick answer: GoRoadie Pro costs £17 a month after its free trial and charges 1.9% when you request a payment through the app. Its FAQ says pupils can't book into your diary themselves. Alternatives include PassReady (£0 a month, pupils book and pay on your own page, the pupil pays the booking fee), LessonBuddy (£9.99), DriveInstruct (£10), Passly (£14.99) and ADI Network (free, with a 2% + 30p payment fee).

We build PassReady, so we have a side. That is why every competitor fact here is dated and comes from the company's own website. For the whole field in one table, see every UK driving instructor app compared.

What GoRoadie Pro costs today

GoRoadie Pro's page offers a 60-day free trial with no card, and says the app costs £17 a month after the trial. (The FAQ on the same page also mentions a one-month trial.) PDIs get free access. Online payments carry a 1.9% service fee when you, the instructor, request money through the app. If the pupil pays through the app instead, the pupil pays the Stripe fee and you receive the full lesson amount.

On booking, its FAQ is direct: pupils can't see or book into your diary, though you can offer them slots. Separately, GoRoadie's pupil referral service charges £25.99 for each pupil referred to you, with the first one free.

The alternatives

1. PassReady: £0 a month

PassReady gives you your own booking page where pupils pick a slot from your live diary and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. There is no monthly fee. The only fee is a booking fee on online card payments, paid by the pupil: PassReady's 4.2% plus card processing, rounded up to the next whole pound. On a £40 lesson the pupil pays £43 and you receive £40.23, so you never pay a percentage out of your lesson price. Cash lessons are logged in the same diary for free.

The pupil pays about £3 on a £40 lesson, a normal booking fee of the kind charged on event tickets, and it pays for the pupil's free app with theory practice and progress tracking. Worked examples for other prices are on the pricing page.

2. LessonBuddy: £9.99 a month

LessonBuddy is £9.99 a month or £89.99 a year, with one set of features for everyone. Qualified instructors get 60 days free and trainees up to six months. Pupil and parent access is included. Its pricing page doesn't show a charge for card payments.

3. DriveInstruct: £10 a month

DriveInstruct Pro is £10 a month after a one-month trial and includes online booking, deposits and Stripe payments with a 2% fee. It also lists you on its learner marketplace.

4. Passly: £14.99 a month

Passly is £14.99 a month with a 14-day trial, and card payments carry a flat 1.5% on top of standard Stripe processing. It also runs a free marketplace listing for instructors. You can export pupils, lessons, income and expenses as CSV.

5. ADI Network: free app

ADI Network's app is free and offers jobs from its partner companies, which its terms say include PassMeFast. Payments from your private learners carry a fee of 2% plus 30p, which you can pay or pass to the learner.

If you use GoRoadie for new pupils

GoRoadie's referral service is separate from the Pro app, so you can use a different diary app and still buy referrals if you want to. On PassReady, pupils who find your booking page book you directly, and there is no charge per pupil.

Moving from GoRoadie Pro to PassReady

GoRoadie's FAQ says it can sync your lessons to your phone's calendar and will export your data for you if you leave. Once your lessons are in Google Calendar, PassReady can read them (read-only). You can also upload a calendar file (.ics) or a CSV. Or email a photo of your diary to hello@passready.co.uk and we'll add your pupils for you, free. More in our guide to switching.
